We are thrilled to announce that Invinity Energy Systems has been recognized as 2024 finalists for the BC Tech Association’s prestigious Technology Impact Awards (TIAs) in the Company of the Year—Scale category. This marks Invinity’s third nomination for a TIA, reflecting our growth, market traction and ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in the clean energy sector.
The Company of the Year—Scale award acknowledges a scaleup success that is now an emerging leader and role model in the BC technology industry. Winners of this award are expected to continue growing and become the next anchors of BC’s tech ecosystem. We’re honoured to be recognized alongside three other outstanding finalists: market intelligence platform Klue, robotic welding innovators Novarc Technologies, and building HVAC & efficiency experts Oxygen8.
“The Technology Impact Awards recognize the very best companies in BC and the accomplishments of the leaders and teams in the BC economy’s fastest growing sector. It is impossible to over-state the importance of technology and innovation to a thriving economy.”
Invinity’s flow batteries are safe and economical, and run continually with no degradation for over 25 years, making them suitable for the most demanding high-throughput applications on the grid today. These batteries are already dispatching clean power at sites all around the world, including at Canada’s largest solar powered VFB project at Chappice Lake, Alberta.
The company grew its presence in BC last year at a significant pace. In 2023 Invinity’s Vancouver 200 MWh manufacturing facility provided the backdrop for the announcement of Canada’s first Clean Energy Strategy by Canada’s Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson.

The progress we made as a battery manufacturer in 2023 cemented our place amongst the world’s best; in January 2024 Invinity was recognized by BloombergNEF as the only Tier 1 non-lithium energy storage manufacturer in the world.
