Invinity Energy Systems in Canada

Canadian‑manufactured, utility‑grade energy storage for a reliable, low‑carbon future.

Invinity Energy Systems is a long‑duration energy storage company with a significant and deep-rooted presence in Canada, including advanced manufacturing in Vancouver, British Columbia. From Canada, we design, build, and ship utility‑grade vanadium flow batteries (VFBs) that help electricity systems integrate renewables reliably, safely, and affordably.

A Strong Canadian Presence: From Manufacturing to Deployment

Canada plays a central role in Invinity’s global operations. Our Vancouver, British Columbia facility is a core manufacturing, engineering, and operations hub, supporting customers across Canada and international markets.

In Canada, Invinity:

  • Operates a purpose‑built vanadium flow battery manufacturing facility in Vancouver, BC
  • Employs highly skilled engineers, technicians, and production staff
  • Manufactures and exports energy storage systems to customers in Canada, Europe, Asia, and beyond
  • Has deployed Canada’s largest flow battery in Chappice Lake, Alberta
  • Has been recognised by government & industry for our role in advancing clean‑energy innovation & manufacturing.

Canadian Manufacturing at Scale

Invinity’s Vancouver manufacturing facility is a cornerstone of Canada’s clean‑technology ecosystem:

  • The facility has been built to support up to 200 MWh of annual battery production capacity
  • It produces standardised, factory‑built vanadium flow battery modules, ensuring consistent quality and repeatable delivery
  • A second building also supports R&D, prototyping, and next‑generation product development, accelerating innovation from Canada to global markets

This investment reflects Invinity’s long‑term commitment to manufacturing in Canada, creating skilled jobs and strengthening domestic clean‑energy supply chains.

Built for Canada’s Energy Challenges

In Canada, clean energy production is a strategic advantage the country is working to capitalist on further. From BC’s transmission and capacity expansion, to Ontario’s generation procurements, to planning for massive wind projects in Nova Scotia, the nation’s regional grids will need to scale rapidly to maintain stability and support the growth of Canadian industry. While the country’s electrical infrastructure is often spread across vast geographies and exposed to extreme weather, Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries are well suited to these realities.

Why Invinity’s products fit Canada:

  • Canadian manufacturing creates sustainable jobs and builds our economy
  • Our batteries provide firm dispatchable power needed to integrate variable renewables
  • Theydefer costly transmission upgrades in constrained areas while mitigating peak demand
  • Their 30-plus year lifespan provides a durable, long-term capacity resource with low lifetime costs
  • Non-flammable VFBs ensure safety for Canadian communities and grid personnel

Technology You Can Trust

Invinity delivers the world’s most advanced, most deployed, and most reliable vanadium flow batteries.  Our systems are designed for continuous operation, with unlimited cycling, accurate SOC measurement, and stable performance over 30+ years—aligning with the lifespan of renewable generation assets

Our products are engineered for predictable performance under continuous cycling, with no capacity fade from cycling, accurate SOC measurement, and sub‑second response for operational flexibility. We’ve built our technology on decades of electrochemistry know‑how and validated performance data.

Manufactured in Canada, our current product lineup includes:

  • Endurium™: Our fourth‑generation, modular VFB designed for utility‑scale, long‑duration applications. It scales seamlessly from 3 MW to more than 100 MW and delivers 4 to 18+ hours of energy without cycle limitations.
  • Endurium Enterprise™: is purpose‑built for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers requiring 1–20 MW of capacity. It enables safe, cost‑effective integration of renewable energy while supporting tariff optimization, all with the flexibility of high-throughput energy storage.

In addition, independent validation of our product specifications by DNV—together with a comprehensive portfolio of international certifications and standards—provides the assurance you need to confidently select Endurium for your project, rather than relying on less proven and less bankable alternatives.

Proven Customer Track Record

Chappice Lake Solar & Storage is Invinity’s flagship Canadian project, and a clear demonstration of what our technology delivers in real‑world operation.

Located in Alberta, the Chappice Lake Solar & Storage Project was developed by Elemental Energy, who co-own the project along with Cold Lake First Nations. It combines 21 MWp of solar generation with an 8.4 MWh Invinity vanadium flow battery system, making it the largest flow battery installations in the country. The system was manufactured in Canada and is operating as an integral part of a commercial renewable energy project.

Core attributes of this Canadian project:

  • Reliable, repeatable performance under real operating conditions in extreme weather
  • Long‑duration solar shifting that complements co-located solar generation
  • Safe, non‑flammable operation suitable for large‑scale deployment
  • Stable output with no degradation from cycling

Partnering for the Long Term

Invinity’s Canadian team supports customers well beyond initial installation. We see energy storage as long‑life infrastructure, and we partner accordingly.

Our approach:

  • A scalable mindset for utilities, developers, and industrial customers
  • Ongoing technical support and operational engagement
  • A focus on repeatable deployments, not one‑off projects

More Than a Battery: Your Storage Partner

Our approach is straightforward: start with your objectives, then configure storage that delivers bankable outcomes—cost savings, revenue stacking, and resilience—without compromising safety or longevity. We combine factory‑built standardization with simplified site‑level engineering so your projects are repeatable, serviceable, and designed to scale. From utilities to data centers, Invinity delivers.

Typical US use cases:

  • Grid‑scale: Capacity shifting, renewable firming, ancillary services, and transmission‑deferral strategies
  • C&I: Tariff optimization, demand charge management, renewables integration and resilience
  • Off-grid and microgrid: Diesel reduction, power quality, and 24/7 renewable supply
