“It was great to visit Invinity in Bathgate to meet their workers. The facility shows how Scotland is at the forefront of delivering the infrastructure to help bring energy bills down, while creating high-quality green energy jobs. Energy storage is essential to allow us to fully utilise Scotland’s offshore wind resources and cut bills by building a more efficient, resilient grid.”

Following the tour, the Secretary, accompanied by Kirsteen Sullivan, MP for Bathgate and Linlithgow, learned about the recent commercial progress announced by the Company, discussed the significance of the UK LDES Cap & Floor Scheme, for which Invinity could be supplying up to 16.7 GWh of its products, and was given an update on the progress achieved to date at the Invinity Copwood VFB Energy Hub.

“We were pleased to welcome the Secretary of State to our Bathgate facility and demonstrate how Invinity’s Scottish-built technology supports a more efficient and affordable energy system. By enabling renewable power to be stored and used when it is needed most, long-duration energy storage plays a vital role in reducing energy system costs and protecting consumers from volatile energy prices. We are proud that our work in Scotland is supporting UK energy security, high-quality clean energy jobs, and the export of British clean-energy technology worldwide.”
