Invinity is delighted to announce that its UK-made batteries have gained the internationally recognised Made in Britain trademark. These vanadium flow batteries are made in the UK at the Company’s facilities in Motherwell and Bathgate before being shipped to customers in the UK and around the world.

As the only BloombergNEF Tier 1 recognised UK battery storage manufacturer and supplier, Invinity is proud to display the ‘Made in Britain’ trademark on its UK-made batteries and to benefit from this not-for-profit organisation’s dedication to supporting British manufacturers under a single, registered collective mark.

The ‘Made in Britain’ mark signifies the highest of standards and the very best quality when it comes to British products. Made in Britain’s 2024 Buying British Survey highlighted that 57% of businesses surveyed say they prefer to buy British-made products over alternatives imported from other countries. The study also highlighted that the two key drivers of buying British sentiment among UK companies are “to help the British economy/support British jobs” (68%) and environmental reasons (62%).

Local manufacturing will also bring a number of environmental benefits for battery storage projects. Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries last for over 25 years and are fully recyclable at end of life, thus enabling customers to play a part in the circular economy. Furthermore, being a local battery supplier means our customers will be able to reduce the impact of their emissions during the construction and operation of their grid-scale battery projects that help with the transition to a cleaner electric grid.

Gaining Made in Britain accreditation is an important step in Invinity’s local manufacturing strategy. Whilst the Company operates globally, the benefits of manufacturing and assembling our products locally in both the UK and North America helps to reduce our emissions, guarantee product quality and support the growth of green jobs in industrial heartlands.
